Farewell Sea King

Sea King Original Watercolour final flight helicopter seaking
Sea King Mk 4
Final Flight

One of the benefits of being self-employed is that I can juggle the hours in the day to cover an impromptu opportunity when it arises.  Today was one of those days.  I downed brushes to climb to the top of Glastonbury Tor to wave goodbye to the Sea King Mk 4 as it toured the Southwest on a final flight.  It was moving!
The formation of five helicopters arrived at the Tor and then flew a circuit around before the final leg to Yeovilton.  Being up high, we were close enough to wave a farewell to the crew!

A lovely lady asked when I would be painting a greyhound, and here is my painting.  And, it's not really grey, more taupe :-)

On The Road...

original watercolour painting of stag art artist

"Stag"
Watercolour  on paper
56cm x 37cm

As much as I love time creating in the studio, getting out and about is fun.  I am on the road today with my stag, delivering to a venue where hopefully his thoughtful gaze can be enjoyed.

A big welcome to viewers of my blog and I hope you like my latest watercolour. These tiny birds have to huddle together to keep warm at night. The birds on the end are fluffed up with their heads down, doorstops to the ones squished in the middle.

Reminds me of a cold camping trip we had in Wales :-)
